2024 Feb 01 | Prof. Peng C.H & Prof. Jiang J.H Visit
In February, we had the honor of welcoming Prof. Peng C.H. and Prof. Jiang J.H., the long-time friends and collaborators from the University of Science and Technology of China, to Hong Kong for a fruitful academic exchange. Their visit facilitated a series of insightful discussions and collaborative efforts with our team, further strengthening the bonds and fostering more collaborations between us. Their expertise and contributions were invaluable in advancing our research objectives.
2023 Dec 31 | Prof. Ivan Smalyukh Visit
Prof. Ivan Smalyukh visited Hong Kong on December 31, 2023, for a collaborative academic exchange with our research team. This memorable gathering was captured in a photograph taken in the New Year rbr, with the breathtaking backdrop of Hong Kong's skyline from the summit of Victoria Peak, heralding in the start of 2024 with inspiration and camaraderie.
2023 Nov 18 | Profs. Selinger visit us
Prof. Jonathan Selinger and Prof. Robin Selinger visited us twice in a roll, mingled with our students, discussed with us, gave two talks, and enjoyed great food and sea view in Hong Kong.
2023 Nov 11 | Prof. Dong Ki Yoon group visit us
Prof. Dong Ki Yoon and his group visited our group for an academic exchange, during which the two groups had a great time discussing and playing together. Many of Prof. Yoon's students were their first time to visit Hong Kong, a memorable trip.
2023 Aug 16 | In honor of Prof. de Pablo, Cancun
Rui attended a Symposium in Cancun organized by Mexican MRS in honor of Prof. Juan de Pablo's birthday. He had a great time to hang out with Juan and many other distinguished friends.

We had the pleasure to have a reunion dinner with Prof. Shengwang Du and his group alumini, Prof. Xuhui Huang, Prof. Bei Zeng, and Prof. Jensen Li in Las Vegas.

2024 Mar 11 | Weiqiang passed PhD defense
Weiqiang Wang has successfully passed his PhD defense, with commitee members Prof. Yufeng Wang from HKU, and Prof. Rachel Zhang, Prof. Tiezheng Qian, Prof. Penger Tong, Prof. Qin Xu, and Prof. Rui Zhang. Her thesis title is "Simulation investigation of active and driven flows in achiral and chiral nematics."
2024 Mar 1 | Yulu passed PhD defense
Yulu Huang has successfully passed her PhD defense, with commitee members Prof. Yi Wang from CUHK, and Prof. Li Qiu, Prof. Yanguang Zhou, Prof. Ding Pan, Prof. Ophelia Tsui, and Prof. Rui Zhang. Her thesis title is "Particle-based simulations of passive and active anisotropic materials."
